OLD AND STILL BEAUTIFUL
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Saw this fallen tree in Kuruva island, a small island in Kabini river in Kerala. I removed my shoes in respect. Sat on it, and wondered about its past. It would have seen many like me giving shade to the tired and weary.
Now it is inviting me to sit and rest for a while, had a wash and refreshed myself with the cool kabini river waters.

I haven't been here in such a long time. Even the New Year's post is new to me.

I love this old tree. Her wrinkles are stunning. The third photo is the most flattering, and a nice portrait. And it's like she's inviting anyone who passes to sit with her. You always have her now.

    Lovely tree story.
I have passed through that island some months ago and it is a delightful place if you have no hard pressing schedules to meet.

    Lovely photography and story telling.

Oh thanks Cuckoo, its a sad end to the story. Life is an eternal tragedy, but we seek small moments of joy which keeps us going, makes us forget about the end. We live for such moments, no one lives to die. Life is for living, not for dying.

Have to welcome you here Ruth, i spent a lot of time here with my friend Asokan. This is one day before the horror of Meenmutty trek. Sat here with my feet in water, very clean river water it is, looks stagnant in the picture, as usual had a chat with the tree.
Like all living beings i think trees have feelings too. Your apple tree perhaps waits for you Ruth.

    Ezee123, Hi
Missed the Puram festival as my train was late by six hours. i heard a couple of elephants ran amok this time also. In my opinion this practice should be stopped. It is such a torture for the elephants. With hundred drums beating any one would go mad. i heard they were chained this time. Went to silent valley the next day

Rauf, Hello. You continue to capture life's beauty and wonder with your camera. Thank you for that. I don't get around as much, and I am sorry. I so appreciate the fine work you do. Blessings to you. Don

    lovely, inviting, nurturing

I find trees to be "wise beings" that whisper calmly, softly of the things past

    Dearest Angel,
I normally sit and talk to the trees, i have to be alone of course. this is wilderness, no one there, but in the city with every one having hands free mobile phones, no one really cares if you talk to yourself. i was fooled many times in the city, i thought they were talking to me.
lots of love and hugs Angel.

Did you see my "Rainforest Goddess" now at the sidebar of WordRapture?
    Absolutely spectacular.
Some of the trees in that area reach over the 1000 years! they do have such an incredible nergy...

I shall dig out some more of the pics from my visit that special place on the Pacific Coast (National PArk)

    Big hug

    'Hey' Rauf...

I just had to pop in and say thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. The words were very timely for me. "What words" you ask. These:

"Its hard to find straight and sincere blogs like yours i am sick and tired of saints and saintly blogs."

I had just been wondering what the hell was this crusty old crone doing with a blog... so I appreciate your comments.

I already had your blogs bookmarked and I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing the sights from the other side of the world. Awesome photos!! (and I don't use the word 'awesome' unless I mean it. If I say 'nice', thats what I mean. If I say "interesting" that could mean interesting or it could mean 'what the hell were you thinking!')

I really enjoyed seeing your pictures. Surprised how fast they actually downloaded because I have a very slow dial up connection! Thanks for coming to visit :)
It`s interesting seeing such a different country!
