PAINTED STORK

Tall Chap goes 3 feet high, predominantly white, red head yellow orange beak, black white wings, they are huge for the size when open in flight. Long slender legs are pink too. Stylish chaps

You see pink on its tail, I don't know if its a tail. They are like pink brush strokes, hence the name painted stork.

They live in colonies. They don't mind living with other species on the same trees, They build nests close to water. Terrific body design. We copy them.

Owee Forgot, Our chap lives for 28 to 30 years, thats pretty good I think. Don't know anything more than this. If you have any more info please add.

I am still under their spell Miss Eileen. There's more grace and style in 'Bolshoi theatre' post in Daylight Again blog. Had to split the pictures in many posts, too many of them.

There was a disaster at 4 in the morning here e2d. I was sipping some hot kaapee and it flew out of my mouth, splashing everywhere on the table on the monitor, keyboard. This happened while reading about the sambaar you made.

There's a scene from Mid summer night's dream in the daylight again blog.

I was checking some blog, clicked on next blog, its on right hand top corner, one blog appeared, wasn't looking complicated, Then India's flag appeared, and a message popped up 'have a good day in chennai' I was shocked this guy is some where in the US, How did he know that I am in chennai ? Then I asked my friends they said something about ip address some nerdy thing which i couldn't understand.

i visited early rauf, but dint leave a comment, went to a friends weding in pondy, some 15000 people flocked there, came back all tired.

what a day out rauf, fantastic ! am amazed at the design point, love the black part of the wings ... am sure there is a simple purpose to that. all that dab dab of pink is so cool. the red cap has an attitude ... really lovely fellas.

The Painted Stork, Mycteria leucocephala. is a tropical species which breeds in Asia from India and Sri Lanka to southeast Asia. It is a resident breeder in lowland wetlands with trees. The large stick nest is built in a forest tree, and 2-5 eggs is a typical clutch.

The Painted Stork is a broad winged soaring bird. Like all storks, it flies with its neck outstretched.

The adult is a large bird, 95-100cm tall, mainly white with black flight feathers. The head is red, and the long downcurved bill is yellow. The tail and legs are pink, and there is dark barring on the breast. Juvenile birds are a duller version of the adult, generally browner and lacking the bright colours of the adult.

The Painted Stork walks slowly and steadily in shallow waters or adjacent wet grassland seeking its prey, which, like that of most of its relatives, includes fish, frogs and large insects. It sweeps its head from side to side with its bill half open in water as it hunts for fish.

rauf, you have transformed blunt knife to painted knife. the write up is like a holiday !

    take care rauf !

e2d, julius Caeser has a taster in astrix comics remember ? All kings had tasters. What a job e2d! poor guys had to eat before the king ate, to see if the food is poisoned. I used to think what if i get a job like that. i get kickass things to eat alright. but but, the prayer would always be after I ate. Every meal would be the last meal for me.
I had Idli and sambar vadai this morning. I smiled again. i was in ponneri abt 50 Kms from here.
